There used to be a collection of my writing on film, TV, and video games here that stretched back to 2002 or 2003. It hasn’t been lost, I’ve just archived all of it because a series of migrations over the last 20 years broke formatting, links, embeds, and all sorts of stuff, including some entire posts.
I’m writing a newsletter about and for my mom called Office Hours, which you can read more about here. The latest edition drops imminently as I write this. It is the biggest and most important writing project I’ve undertaken in a very long time. Please subscribe and support it if you have the means. It’s “pay what you want,” and all of the proceeds go directly toward the costs of my mom’s ongoing care.
Electric Shadow is returning this summer as both a blog-shaped column with a newsletter component (compiling the posts of the week) and, eventually, a podcast that I have been working at bit by bit for a while.
The relaunched column will revisit some of the stuff I did previously, including recurring series on The Criterion Collection and Blu-ray/physical media reviews in general, along with other stuff I miss doing. The relaunched podcast will be more or less along the lines of what I think the best version of its last iteration was…maybe better.
The first episode features Paul Reubens and the stars of 2001: A Space Odyssey.
It’ll still be a while before that gets going, but it’ll be worth the wait.
